Thanks for stopping by and visiting our little window on the world of
Boer meat goats. We have a small operation producing top quality
breeding stock to meet the needs of both the purebred/fullblood
breeder and the commercial goat producer. These beautiful red
headed goats have brought alot of pleasure and laughter into our
life. They are so friendly and such fun to be around.
We are new to raising Boer goats - my first Boers arrived August 1st
in 2005 with 3 percentage does, 1 purebred, 5 fullbloods and a buck.
This spring I bought 9 does and a buck from Coni Ross - I wanted to
introduce the impressive genetics of her 2 bucks, Warrior and Anvil,
to the Northwest. I now have 5 Anvil percentage does, 3 percentage
Warrior does and a fullblood doe out of Blade. Now we're up to 31
does with the replacement does that I have kept, all in a year and a
half.
I have been very fortunate to buy top quality goats from reputable
breeders. I went to three shows this summer and did really well. My
2 year old buck, Leaning Tree A. Hero, out of a Pipeline doe and 2
Dox Amigo, an Aflac son, won overall Supreme Champion buck of
the show under Lynn Farmer in July. At a show in October, one of
Coni's does won Reserve Champion Junior Percentage doe under
Kyle Strickland. In most classes, I placed 3rd or better. I was very
excited! My one regret is to not have remembered to take pictures of
my show goats when they were at the shows and all groomed and
washed.
My latest project is the marketing of pasture finished frozen goat
